About My Dad

Born on Dec. 31, 1919, my Dad earned his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry. Everyone thought he was a confirmed bachelor, until he married my Mom in 1954 after dating her only about three weeks.

Six years later, they had me. My brother followed two years later.

My Dad taught me to love animals of all kinds, and to give to others. His faith in God was strong, and he tried hard to set a good example. He loved music and sang in several choirs. 

I thank my Dad for my love of God, horses and kids, and what I gained by growing up surrounded by animals. In March 1999, he died quietly in his sleep. He knew of my plans for the ranch, but left us before seeing them take shape.

It is my hope to use the Whispering Hope Ranch to help kids with special needs. I believe kids can gain a great deal by exposure to the special love of animals.  I have much work to do, but that's the goal.
